Every week during the school year Mr. Phillips will give each student a copy of the Wednesday Handout. This handout addresses vital information about upcoming events as well as band booster fundraising opportunities. Although it is your child’s responsibility to get this to you, Mr. Phillips may also have this handout posted here.

Dine-To-Donate
Our next Dine-To-Donate will take place on Tuesday February 3rd at Texas Roadhouse from 3:00pm-10:0pm. A flyer is attached to this handout.
Music Marathon
The Music Marathon will be held on Saturday March 21st, with the grand finale concert beginning at 5:00pm. More information to come!
Band Booster Meeting
Our next monthly Band Booster Meeting is Thursday February5th at 7:30pm in the High School Band Room. Information about upcoming Band Booster Trustee Elections and planning for next year will be topics of discussion.
Disney:
The final Disney Payment of $265.00 is due on Friday February 6th. All accounts must be at a zero balance by this date. Any Parent who signed up and made payments to Chaperone the Disney Trip should plan to attend a quick Chaperone meeting after our February 5th Booster Meeting.
OMEA Large Group Contest
On Friday March 6th, the New Philadelphia Wind Ensemble and Concert Band will travel to North Canton Hoover High School to perform as part of the OMEA District 8 Large Group Contest. Members of each band are preparing and will perform 3 pieces of music which will be adjudicated by a panel of 3 judges. 1 of these pieces was selected from a required list of 16 songs, based on the difficulty of the composition. After their public stage performance concludes, each band will then transition to the Sight Reading Room (students and staff only) where each band will be asked to perform a piece of music they have never seen before in front of a separate adjudicator. The Wind Ensemble will be performing in Class A and the Concert Band will be performing in Class C.

What is the Wednesday Handout?
Each week members of the High School Band receive a handout on Wednesday from
Mr. Phillips which may contain the following:
- Announcements
- Information about upcoming Performances/report, departure and return times, etc
- Fundraising information
- New Philadelphia Band Booster Information

In the coming weeks, we will be adding a Welty Band Handout Section to the website,
where we will upload most handouts given to students. We also have an online band

Music Marathon

beginning at 5:00pm. 8th Grade Band members and all Steel Band members will be rehearsing and performing at this event.
New Philadelphia Band Booster Meeting
As an incoming freshman band parent, you are encouraged to please attend our next
monthly Band Booster Meeting on Thursday February 5 th at 7:30pm in the High School
Band Room. Please enter through Door #12. Information about upcoming Band
Booster Trustee Elections, discussion about how to get involved with the boosters and
planning for next year will be topics of discussion. We hope that you can join us!
